Isaac del Toro Wins the 2025 Giro dell’Emilia

The young Mexican talent conquers Italy and adds 14 victories in a dream season.

Isaac del Toro has become synonymous with triumph and perseverance in international cycling.

This 2025, the Ensenada native once again demonstrated his quality by taking first place in the prestigious Giro dell’Emilia, reaffirming his position as one of the season’s most outstanding cyclists.

The feat honors Mexico and marks del Toro’s fourteenth victory in a year full of achievements and excitement.

The competition, held in Italy and known for its demanding course, brought together the best exponents of the discipline.

Isaac arrived at the event after an outstanding performance at the Cycling World Championships in Kigali, Rwanda, where he placed among the top seven and five in the world, strengthening his prestige and confidence before facing the challenge in Emilia.

At just 21 years old, Del Toro headed a list of favorites that included multiple champion Primoz Roglic and heavyweights like Egan Bernal and Richard Carapaz.

The Giro dell’Emilia celebrated its 108th edition this year, bringing together cyclists to face off in a nearly 200-kilometer battle between Mirandola and Bologna.

The route, famous for its combination of flat sections and tough climbs, tested the athletes’ abilities in both endurance and strategy.

The first 70 kilometers allowed the riders to get into their stride, but it wasn’t until kilometer 109, on the imposing Monzuno, that the true tests of strength and tactics began.

From the start, the peloton witnessed a five-rider breakaway, who managed to gain more than four and a half minutes.

However, Del Toro, true to his calculating style, remained patient in the main group, waiting for the perfect moment to launch his final attack.

In the final 40 kilometers, characterized by constant ups and downs, the Mexican seized the initiative and determinedly pulled ahead, overtaking direct rivals such as Britain’s Thomas Pidcock and Lenny Martinez.

Finally, Isaac crossed the finish line in Bologna as the overall champion, leaving Pidcock in second place and Martinez in third.

This victory cements his reputation on the UCI ProSeries circuit and adds another achievement to his young but impressive career.

Mexican fans celebrate with Del Toro every pedal stroke, recognizing his talent and indomitable spirit.

Isaac’s meteoric rise doesn’t stop there.

This Sunday, October 5, the cyclist will return to the 2025 Coppa Agostoni, ready to face new challenges and continue writing his history among the elite of world cycling.

Mexico is with you, Isaac!
